Project Engineer I

Responsible for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates  assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable FAA regulations, customer requirements, accepted engineering practices, as well as RECARO standards; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.  Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied.  On a large project the Project Manager may delegate certain project management responsibilities to the Project Engineer, including day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative aswell as coordination of all internal activities.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Coordinates all aspects of the design and certification of aircraft seats.  This includes the coordination of designers, design engineers, electrical engineers, certification engineers and product support personnel.
  • Plans, schedules and tracks engineering tasks; provides detailed report to Program Management and Engineering Manager under the supervision of a Project Engineer.
  • Summarizes technical customer requirements, communicates this to the team and ensures customer expectations are being met.
  • Responds to concerns of customers by making design changes in seat design and components in a manner that meets customer expectations and are in conformance with applicable regulations under the supervision of the Lead Project Engineer.
  • Participates in design meetings with project engineers to discuss engineering issues, including design changes and requests from customers.
  • Supports Purchasing and Production by providing bills of materials and documentation to support sourcing of components.
  • Periodically writes Service Bulletins pertaining to modification of fielded seats; coordinates service bulletins approval with airworthiness authorities.
  • Familiar in the use of FAR, TSO regulations, as well as the use of parts lists with high variant diversity is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLM based database systems such as Teamcenter, Agile or Enovia is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering field with 5-7 years of experience.
 Technical Skills 
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes required.
  • Experience in the design of Aircraft interiors is desired. 
  • Knowledge about aircraft documentation systems for after sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is desired
 Computer Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in CATIA V5 required.

Program Manager I

The Program Manager I is responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the fulfillment of assigned customer orders for commercial aircraft passenger seats, from the time a program is handed over by the Sales department until program closure.  The primary focus of the Program Manager I is to ensure complete satisfaction of assigned customers with the RECARO Aircraft Seating products and services, maintaining cost, quality and schedule control, as well as RECARO’s quality and design standards. The Program Manager I has primary responsibility to maintain program on time performance, quality, cost and weight targets.   PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage program from sales handover to program closure with complete responsibility over cost, timeline, scope and quality of the product.
  • Responsible to maintain overall program timeline to support of agreed due dates at all times.
  • Develop full scale project plan in MS Project
  • Manage MS Tracking database updates
  • Negotiate due date changes with OEM and customers
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support overall program baseline in collaboration with project team, senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage program scope and access the impact of scope changes
  • Responsible for communication with customers and stakeholders
  • Manage Program budget and coordinate budget changes as necessary
  • Responsible for program documentation
  • Program Milestone Meeting documentation including Agenda and Meeting minutes
  • Concessions and commitment letters through OEM product support processes
  • Responsible to manage program team to achieve project results
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.  A degree Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering is desired with a minimum of  2 years’ experience in a Program Management role.  Additional Skills:
  • Strong, proven customer relations skills are required.
  • The position requires a high level understanding of engineering concepts and FAA certification procedures for commercial aircraft seats.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to positively influence customer decisions, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments. 
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment are required.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.  Excellent organization skills are essential.
  • Must have excellent internal and external communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Multicultural background is a plus.
