Quality Measurement Engineer

Overview

Position Location:  2275 Eagle Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76177

                                                                                   

Hours:   Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for performing complex measurements of parts using calibrated measurement systems, creating measurement reports and analyzing results. Responsible for training others on the use of measurement systems and act as liaison to other departments.
  • Perform complete measurements of parts or manufacturing tools (e.g. molding tool) using portable CMM like a Hexagon ROMER arm and optical 3D scanner from GOM (e.g. ATOS Triple Scan).
  • Create measurement reports and analyze measurement results.
  • Liaison to Engineering, Purchasing and Supplier Development, to provide regular feedback on supplier quality findings.
  • Develop and deliver training for measurement tools and train inspectors and other colleagues.
  • Optimize inspection methods to expedite inspections and manage equipment capacity.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and training to international audiences from all levels of the organization and its external partners.
  • Work with Quality Inspection Planner to provide feedback and updates to inspection plans.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related Engineering field or foreign equivalent. Will accept three or four year degrees. 3 years of job-related engineering experience.

Special Skills and Other Requirements:

Experience must include:

  1. Knowledge of setup of/alignment to coordinate systems (e.g. reference point system).
  2. Knowledge of GD&T.
  3. Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes.
  4. Developing and delivering training/work instructions.
  5. Knowledge of FAA, EASA, Aerospace OEM and AS9100/AS9102 requirements.
  6. Knowledge of ISO2768 and ISO1101.
  7. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools.
