Production Supervisor

 

Overview

To direct all aspects of the assembly line in a manner that insures the production process, quality and final product meet FAA and other approved specifications.

Position Location:  2275 Eagle Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76177

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the Production department activities while supporting Leads in the daily tasks.
  • Manage the payroll and timesheets for all the non-exempt employees as needed.
  • Manage shop floor boards data including the production schedule and any other source of performance/info charts related to the production department.
  • Coordinates with Engineering to ensure Engineering issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with production planning to ensure that control sheets are received according to the production plan.  Review for accuracy and advise planning if changes are needed
  • Coordinates with Logistics and Purchasing to ensure that material flow is constant
  • Coordinate inspection flow with the QA department to ensure an efficient and timely line movement.
  • Follow up with the Line DPU’s and support in corrective actions. Also, look after unresolved quality criteria issues and coordinate for resolution.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors and line leads the movements of employees when needed.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental meetings to mitigate issues and make sure the assigned actions are on track.
  • Analyze assembly performance, training, efficiency and attendance.
  • Follow up with open MRB’s and contact the respective department for a timely handling of it.
  • Attend to departmental meetings and  moderate as needed.
  • Audit Line processes and provide guidance to maintain the compliance.
  • Evaluate operator performance daily and make recommendations for improvement to the Production Manager
  • Coach employees as needed and perform 1 on 1’s.
  • Evaluate subordinates and keep records of performance.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and disciplining assembly operators in coordination with the Production Manager and Human Resources.
  • Support line leads in the daily operational challenges.
  • Participate in process improvements projects and promote the continuous improvement approach on the Lines and with your subordinates.
  • Initiate and manage corrective actions for line issues (5 why’s, problem solving process, etc.)
  • Support Lean and 5S initiatives
  • Ensure company guidelines and safety policies are followed

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Admin, Manufacturing or in related field preferred 4+ years of Production/ Assembly experience.
  • 5-7 years related experience with a combination of Associates degree education in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEMs) related fields.

Experience:

  • Must be able to read, write and interpret technical drawings and instructions
  • Experience with PC’s and associated software
  • Knowledge of assembly procedures required; seat assembly preferred
  • Ability to independently plan and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to solve problems with little or no guidance
  • Ability to organize teams to effectively accomplish organizational goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
