Quality Supervisor, Product Conformity

 

Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for directing and managing the activities of the US quality assurance function in a manner that ensures all incoming materials, the production process, and final product meet the approved specifications as well as customer and regulatory requirements.

Position Location:  2275 Eagle Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76177

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads long and short term business financial goals and responsible for managing and meeting budgets for the area of Quality and provides justification and plans for improvement when the actual results deviate from the
  • Assists with the development of strategic plans for operational activity for company.
  • Manages and directs the quality assurance function in a manner that ensures all incoming materials, the production process, and final product meet the approved specifications as well as customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides periodic quality-related training to plant personnel. Conducts periodic audits to ensure that proper practices and procedures are consistently performed.
  • Develops and maintains quality statistics, charts defects and non-conformities utilizing computer system. Maintains all relevant documentation
  • Coordinates closely with German plant to ensure consistency with practices, procedures and specifications.
  • Frequently contacts personnel in Engineering, Purchasing and other departments for the purpose of discussing Supplier production problems in order to secure necessary information or consider factors which may interfere with the effectiveness of production. Takes preventive or corrective action to remedy the problem or refer it to others who may be more directly responsible.
  • Field issues and concerns from Production Floor concerning purchased parts. Work to resolve issues by driving down to root cause.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of the Quality Management Manual and relevant procedures and follows all guidelines as defined by ISO 9001:2000 / AS 9100, Boeing requirements, customer requirements, FAA and other regulatory
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement program and corrective action projects, contributing by leading specific improvement activities
  • Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluations of direct reports, including performance management, identifying training needs, capacity building and succession planning.
  • Support Lean and 5S initiatives
  • Keeps abreast of trends in the aircraft industry in order to better anticipate needed quality operational improvements.
  • Chairs the Material Review Board and conducts regular meetings. When materials deviate from quality standards, initiates a meeting and facilitates the decision-making process

Education:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or combination of education and related work experience

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • Experience managing teams in a production environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality systems and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and get positive results
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Strong analytic problem solving skills
