Repair Station Technician I

Overview

Perform repairs and modifications on commercial airline passenger seats and other related components within IAW FAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and modifications on airline seats and their components.
  • Complies with all procedures in the Repair Station Manual including 14 CFR, manufacturers’ data and Customer documents.
  • Track work in progress and status of all parts currently being repaired and/or other customer-supplied product.
  • Document and follow internal processes for receipt, repair, handling, storage, packaging, preservation and delivery of repaired parts.
  • Complete all related documentation required by Recaro Aircraft Seating, FAA and the customer, (i.e., 8130-3 remove (not for technician), work orders, repair Orders, service bulletins, quality assurance related paperwork, etc.
  • Support and maintain 5S initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 2 years of mechanical assembly or mechanical repair experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering prints, assembly drawings customer maintenance manuals, repair orders, service bulletins, and other related technical data.
  • Must be able to read and understand both standard and metric measuring system, precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and ability to operate electric and pneumatic power tools in a safe manner.
  • Must be detail oriented and organize in daily work situation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills due to constant communication with Shop lead, customers, and vendors.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. Overtime may be required on short notice.
  • Ability and willingness to travel in or out of state on short notice required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record with DMV.
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.
