Supply Chain Parts Expeditor (Spares)

Overview

This position is responsible for the in-house tracking and status reporting of purchased parts, monitoring of updates of the Shop Floor report, and general support of the SCC and Commodity teams concerning missing parts for both spare part orders and mod kits. This position requires a strong ability to prioritize tasks and assertiveness concerning material availability/order shortages to meet committed timelines. Communication skills are necessary to coordinate between Purchasing and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Alert Logistics and Incoming Inspection/FAI personnel of needed items and ensure timely processing
  • Verify if overdue shipments or shortage material have arrived and communicate to affected departments
  • Monitor shortage lists for series shipsets; follow up with buyers if necessary to ensure a timely update of the shortage reports as needed and communicate part status to production lines.
  • Assist the buyers in the timely actions surrounding rejected material and assist in monitoring required MRB actions including scheduling rework, return to vendor or use “as is”.
  • Assist in reviewing material availability by verifying stock with logistics and quality where necessary

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in procurement or related field may be substituted for each year of the two (2) years of college.    
  • Ability to understand basic material movement processes within an ERP system.
  • This position requires a strong sense of urgency and has frequent interaction with the working levels of the organization.
  • Ability to understand basic Materials Requirements planning
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to understand Bills of Material and detail Drawings.
  • Ability to communicate and mediate issues between Purchasing and other departments.
  • Ability to understand production planning/SAP schedules and ability to prioritize tasks autonomously
  • Professional attitude and work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task is essential
  • Must be able to work in dynamic situations and take on tasks outside standard work scope
